Soak herrings for several hours, then cut into small pieces and

Pour the
mixture
over the sliced onions

a Pyrex dish,
cover with the
remaining

of butter on top of
breadcrumbs,
then bake

Place steak in a
pan and
fry gently until
it
starts
to
brown, then add
the
pepper,
salt
and
onions, and cook till a golden brown. Scoop out the centres of
the
tomatoes and
drain.
Place the scooped-out centres and all
the other

Fill each
tomato
with
the
mixture
and
